How ARTS AmbassadorsHIPS Began

In the mid 1950's the US State Department started a program called "Jazz Ambassadors" with a goal of bringing US music to the farthest reaches of the globe in hopes of fostering peace and understanding amongst cultures.   This program was so successsful that it has continued to grow and evolve into everything from basketball teams and authors to dance groups and bluegrass bands.   It turns out that when you give artists from different cultures an opportunity to collaborate and learn from each other, they quickly find the inate commonalites we all share as humans.   Below you'll find some of the many incredible experiences the Henhouse Prowlers have had overseas and how it's shaped the bands sound, teaching and world view.
