Episode 1 - Vijit Malik: Bringing Doc Watson to Dubai
Episode 1 is an interview with Dubai based performer Vijit Malik, an accomplished musician, as well as a lover of the Grateful Dead, Hindustani, and bluegrass music. Vijit talks about his experience growing up in New Delhi, the connections between Indian and some American musics and what it's like to perform in a country where 'popular' music may not be as common as it is in other parts of the world.

While searching through photos from our trip to UAE, we found some pics from the show where the Prowlers met Vijit. Low and behold you can see him above at the front of the stage with his tall red turban, probably getting ready to shout out "Uncle Pen!"
Finally, here's a shot from stage. You can see several of the countries' booths in the distance. The production value at Global Village was insane with giant screens behind us and rock-star lighting. Who knew it would be such a great place to make new friends?
